Long-term relationships, industrial identity and market vision: Matteo Barcellandi’s perspective

In the automotive aftermarket, the ability to build solid relationships and maintain a long-term vision is becoming increasingly strategic. This is the perspective shared by Matteo Barcellandi, Sales Director of Metelli S.p.A., a historic Italian company and a partner of Novagroup for over twenty years.

Metelli is a family-owned company with more than sixty years of history, now in its second generation, with all production facilities located in Italy, in the province of Brescia. A strong industrial identity, based on vertical integration and quality control, which represents one of the company’s defining characteristics.

The relationship with Novagroup is rooted in shared values, starting with family and tradition—elements common both to Metelli and to the group’s founding members.

In a market subject to consolidation and constant change, the stability of the relationship has proven to be a distinctive factor: “Despite a very dynamic market, the relationship between our companies has always remained very stable.”

Another central element is Italian identity, understood as a conscious industrial choice: “Producing Made in Italy products, with the entire supply chain based in Italy, has allowed us to grow steadily.”

Looking ahead, Barcellandi addresses technological evolution with a pragmatic and realistic approach: “We do not believe the vehicle fleet will change as quickly as is often reported. The internal combustion engine will remain present for many years to come.”

At the same time, the company is already working on the evolution of its product offering: “Many product families will continue to be present even in electric vehicles.”

In this scenario, the Novagroup model plays a key role thanks to its ability to maintain a strong territorial presence and represent the entire Italian aftermarket supply chain.
