Having joined NovaGroup at its foundation in 2014, Mattiello Parts Service stands today as one of the most significant examples of entrepreneurial evolution within the network. The story is told by Raffaele Mattiello, who leads the family business and retraces its journey from a highly specialized diesel-focused company to a broader role within the electromechanical sector.
«We’ve been part of NovaGroup practically since it was born,» Mattiello explains. «Coming from a very technical and niche sector like turbochargers and injection systems, it truly felt like a completely new world.»
The invitation came from Vittorio Amura, a key figure in the growth of the group: «I’ll always be grateful to him. I asked for his advice about joining this new reality, and from there began a journey that profoundly transformed our company.»
Until that moment, Mattiello Parts Service mainly served diesel specialists. Expanding into electromechanics and the broader aftermarket represented a major challenge – one made possible precisely through joining the consortium.
«If we hadn’t entered NovaGroup, it would have been nearly impossible to present ourselves individually to suppliers and partners in the electromechanical sector,» he stresses. «The network allowed us to build relationships, secure agreements, and access a market we would never have had the strength to enter on our own.»
Today, the company is led by the third generation of the Mattiello family and continues to evolve within a competitive and fast-changing landscape.
Among the key challenges ahead, Raffaele Mattiello highlights the transition to electric mobility: «Electric vehicles represent a huge challenge for us. An electric service is completely different: no oil filters, no belts, none of the typical thermal engine operations. It’s a whole new world, and we’ll have to understand how to approach it.»
The story includes memorable moments, such as the first official meeting with NovaGroup: «I still remember the presentation at Hotel Parker’s in Naples, overlooking the Gulf. Everything was new to us: suppliers, partners, a market we didn’t know. That day gave me an incredible adrenaline rush.»
What stands out most, however, is the philosophy guiding the company: «I have a motto I always repeat: we shouldn’t just agree with the customer – we must give them one more reason to choose us.»
A mindset that reflects the need, now more than ever, to stand out in a complex, competitive market where products often appear very similar.
